10 choices to reduce drama

After our review of drama queens and our collective baloneys, here is a little practical guide to print, laminate, and have with you at all times.
-
1. Religiously read the baloney detector kit by Carl Sagan. It can be applied to everything and anything
-
2. Go see Huddle 3D. The feeling of our own insignificance will help you put the collective drama into perspective. After watching this, one realizes that the sheer scale of the Universe makes it seem like even if our planet exploded, it probably would not even make a sound.
-
3. Gently tell the drama queens around you that they are just that! You may have to repeat yourself there but it will eventually apease them, even if just for a moment. Tell them: “You are a drama queen, go read Atypique.ca’s article on 2012, it’ll calm you down!” You might lose a friend or two in passing. Which takes us straight into our 4th choice…
-
4. … make sure you have daily contact with your most upbeat friends, those you always invite because they are the life of the party. Those who always see things in pink, who attract luck, upon whom life smiles.
-
5. Go check out our “Finding zen” section.
-
6. Even if “Hell is other people”, drama doesn’t always come from the outside. We all have a tendency to play drama Queen, so let’s put things in perspective. Before overreacting at any piece of news, ask yourself this question: “Will I talk about this again in 10 years?” Right away, it calms things down and it should motivate your to take a deep breath.
-
7. Always have some Rescue Remedy on you and spray some on your tongue when you start feeling overwhelmed. It’s a little miracle spray from the Bach Flowers collection: no addiction, no allergens, no coloring, and it’s even less dangerous than homeopathy but very efficient for all booboos of the sould and all little daily stresses. At the Côte-des-Neiges birthing house, they use it on birthing women.
-
8. Move your butt! You ran when you were younger? Time to get back into it! Do whatever you fancy: Yoga, basketball, swimming, kung fu, skating etc. As long as you move EVERY DAY. Once you have worked up a sweat and produced enough endorphins, drama disappears.
-
9. As a plan B, take a theater class. If you’re going to be a drama queen, you might as well do it right.
-
10. If all else fails, you can always take a vow of silence and hide in the nearest monastery.
